ATTENTION FAMILIES: Due to a change in state law, the Marion School District will no longer be allowed to use "AMI" days when schools are closed for inclement weather or any other reason. All days missed must be made up. Our 2023-24 academic calendar (link below) specifies the days that will be utilized as make-up days as needed. Those days (in order) are Friday, May 24; Friday, April 26; Friday, March 29; Thursday, March 28; and Wednesday, March 27. We know this reflects a change from what has been our operating procedure for the past several years and a return to what had been the classic “snow day” procedure. And we know that with the support of our families, we will make this adjustment smoothly. As always, any decision about when to close schools, dismiss early, or start late will be made with the highest regard for the safety of our students and staff. As a reminder, families will be notified about any changes to the school schedule via robocall, text message, Facebook, and notifications on the WMC and WREG television stations. Our 2023-24 academic calendar can be found here: https://rb.gy/s9d9sb

ATTENTION FAMILIES: Beginning with the graduating class of 2027, each Arkansas student must complete 75 hours of community service that is certified by the service agency or organization where the student volunteers. The community service must be in programs or activities that meet the requirements established by the State Board and the District Board of Directors and include preparation, action, and reflection components. Our schools will work with students to help facilitate this process. Students completing community service work should record their hours on this form, which can be turned in at the school via Naviance: https://5il.co/27gm8 Again, this state requirement will start with members of the Class of 2027 (current 9th graders). Current students in grades 10-12 do not have a community service requirement. For questions or more information, please contact the Marion Junior High School administration. Thank you!
