1st graders in Mrs. Jones's class explored a new text this week, "My Librarian is a Camel." The class utilized a treasure box full of items found in their story to give them visual interactions with the story. Students also worked in pairs to further investigate the text and discuss things they noticed and wondered.

Did you know...
each morning at MST from 7:50 - 8:20 we have targeted, focused instruction going on in each classroom. It is called Rise and Shine! Some students are working ahead in their learning. While others are getting an extra dose of instruction on essential skills, one of our top priorities. During this time, every single staff member is working to make Rise and Shine run smoothly. Your student does not want to miss this time!

Our morning announcement helpers have been on their a games lately!

The MST Book Fair Coin Drive and Spirit Week will happen next week! Proceeds will go to All For Books and our CIA Green Team.

MST's Community in Action group is always looking for volunteers to get involved with some of the amazing things happening here. One of the many things community members can volunteer for is to help out with our VIP parties which happen at the end of every nine weeks. Our first VIP parties will be coming up very soon, and the CIA is looking for volunteers to help make those parties fabulous for our students.

Time for another round of fun and fabulous morning announcement helpers!

MST students will take individual school pictures this Friday, August 26th. No paper forms will be used for ordering school pictures.
Students will be photographed in front of a green screen. This means that students will need to avoid wearing the color green for their pictures. Any color but green will work great!

Last night we kicked off Men on a Mission! This program will bring MST dads, grandads, uncles and community members into our building to help build mentorship, leadership and safety for our students. Thank you to everyone who came and is stepping up to be present for our MST students!

It's always a great day to be a Patriot, but especially when you get to lead the morning announcements!

We are so grateful for the Marion Chamber of Commerce!

Thank you, TDC Automotive, for your donation! Our students will be blessed by your generosity.

Mrs. Gilbert had her 1st grade class engage in socratic seminars. Students asked open-ended questions and discussed how books changed the lives of the animals from the story “Wild About Books".

Another week means another round of morning announcements lead by amazing student leaders!

Last week, third graders worked on analyzing and interpreting data from a survey. Students then put the data into a hallway display. Not only did they combine their reading and math skills but they got to show off those skills with a hands-on event!

Because we care about others, MST collects can tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Each tab collected is recycled and the funds are used to help with the needs of the Ronald McDonald House and the families who stay there. RMH accepts any metallic tab like the tabs from energy drinks, soup cans, and soda cans. There is a bucket located in our lobby for students to donate their tabs for RMH. Let's get that bucket filled!
