The 2025 edition of the Marion Patriot Pride Marching Band is set to begin another record-setting competition season.

Fresh off a historic year for the band program in 2024-25, the band is busy developing the 2025 competition show entitled “Metagalactic.” This production will feature music from “Star Trek,” “Space Mountain,” “Mars Attacks,” and “Moon Dance.”

Visually, “Metagalactic” promises to be the most dramatic show Marion has ever fielded, with vivid retro-futuristic colors evoking the golden age of science fiction -- when bold space explorers and dazzling aliens lit up the screen in adventures from galaxies far, far away.

“We’re incredibly excited about this season -- not only because of our ‘Metagalactic’ show, but because of the tremendous support we’ve received from the district,” said Monty Hill, Marion director of bands. “With our newly expanded band room, a new dedicated and marked practice area, and a brand-new observation tower, our students have the tools they need to reach even greater heights. Following up on the successes we’ve had over the last several years, we can’t wait to take our program to the next level this fall.”

In addition to performances at Patriot home football games throughout the fall, the band will compete in an extensive slate of contests, including:

  • September 27 – Bryant Classic – Bryant, Ark.

  • October 4 – The Devil Dog Classic – Morillton, Ark.

  • October 11 – Bands of America Regional – The Liberty Bowl – Memphis

  • October 18 – The West Memphis Classic – West Memphis, Ark.

  • October 21 – The Regional Concert Assessment – Cabot, Ark.

  • October 25 – The Eastern Shore Classic – Daphne, Ala.

  • November 1 – The Bandmasters Championship -- The Liberty Bowl – Memphis

  • November 3-6 – Arkansas State Band Contest – War Memorial Stadium – Little Rock
