The Marion School District’s Summer Feeding Program provided more than 17,000 meals to children in the Marion community during the summer months, helping ensure students had access to breakfast and lunch even while school was not in session.
The program, which ran from June 8 through July 15, was open to all children ages 18 and under. No income requirements or eligibility restrictions were required, allowing families throughout the community to take advantage of the program.
Meals were served Monday through Friday at Marion High School, with both breakfast and lunch available. In addition, families were able to pick up meals at the Church of God on Highway 64, and meals were also delivered throughout the community by bus, expanding access for students and families who were unable to attend the primary serving locations.
The Summer Feeding Program is an important part of Marion School District’s commitment to supporting students and families year-round. By providing access to nutritious meals during the summer, the district helps students stay healthy and ready to learn when they return to the classroom.

This program is an extension of the work we do throughout the school year to provide students with healthy, nutritious meals that support their growth, development, and success. As welcome students back for a new school year, we are excited to continue that commitment every day.”
