Ruth Hegwood-Mills, the Marion School District's District Supervisor of Instructional Data, was recognized Tuesday morning by the Crittenden County Quorum Court, which presented a proclamation honoring her work with Bright Futures Marion during Black History Month.

The proclamation acknowledged Hegwood-Mills’ leadership and ongoing commitment to supporting students and families through the Bright Futures Marion initiative.

Following the recognition, Hegwood-Mills expressed gratitude and emphasized the collective effort behind the organization’s work.

“While I am deeply honored to receive this award, it truly belongs to every volunteer, partner, educator, and supporter who faithfully pour into our students and families each day,” Hegwood-Mills said. “Bright Futures Marion is powered by community, and it is through our shared commitment and steady partnership that we are making a lasting difference.”

Lisa O’Neal, District #11, and members of the Quorum Court were thanked for the recognition.
