Following school closures caused by the recent winter storm, Marion School District students will attend school on the following previously designated makeup days from the board-approved academic calendar:
Thursday, Feb. 12 (1:45 p.m. dismissal)*
Friday, Feb. 13
Monday, April 6*
Friday, May 22
Because the Marion School District operates on an alternate academic calendar, the district is permitted to miss up to four instructional days without making them up. As of Thursday, Feb. 5, the district has missed nine school days, requiring five makeup days. Plans for the fifth makeup day will be announced soon.
By law, the district’s makeup days are designated on the board-approved academic calendar. That calendar can be viewed here: 2025-26 Calendar.
*-Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12. All schools will dismiss at 1:45 p.m.
*-The Professional Development Day previously set for Monday, April 6, will be rescheduled.
