"Exciting" -- "Fun" -- "Amazing"
A handful of 7th graders at Marion’s 7th Grade Academy used these three words to describe their first three days of middle school. “I’m very excited about this year,” said Freddie Lewis. Mateo Gamez echoed those words when he said, “The teachers treat everybody the same. I really like it.”
With the excitement of the new year at a new school with new classmates and teachers, many students enjoy having more classes. In fact, most students we spoke with commented on how they like going to 8 classes a day instead of just a few.
Cooper Miller said, “Last year, in 6th grade, all my classes were in one place. There are more classes to take, which makes it more exciting.” “It’s very exciting to have all of the different electives, but it can be stressful just remembering which classes to go to,” said Tosie Goode.
Even though all of the electives and core classes are often difficult to find, most students are prepared to put in the work they need to be successful this school year. “You’ve got to work to get good grades to pass 7th grade,” said Ashton Maxwell. “All the teachers are super sweet, as well as the students. I think it’s going to be an amazing year,” exclaimed Goode.
Stay tuned all year long as we spend our Mondays with students at 7GA and Marion Junior High for #MiddleSchoolMonday!
