Ms. Coleman’s students at VPA were hard at work during UFLI! Using letter tiles, students practiced building and changing words while strengthening the connection between sounds and letters. Ms. Coleman modeled the routine, provided explicit prompts, and gave students hands-on opportunities to practice both encoding (spelling) and decoding (reading).
We love seeing students actively manipulating letters, thinking about sounds, and building strong foundational reading skills one word at a time! ❤️🔤👏

A huge shoutout to Elisa Garcia & Paisley Plunkett, two of our talented elementary art students for designing and creating our newest ceiling tile to join the collection hanging in our school! (Also, thank you Lillian Barnes for helping to add some color as well!) This year's tile celebrates our production of Lion King Jr. and will serve as a lasting reminder of the hard work, creativity, and memories made throughout the show.
We love seeing our students leave their artistic mark on our campus while helping preserve the history of our performing arts program. Be sure to look up and check out this amazing addition alongside the other ceiling tiles that showcase past productions and special moments!
