Thanks to Taher, the food service partner for the Marion School District, our students had the incredible opportunity to experience Chef Benny D’Epiro in action this week!
Chef Benny, born and raised in Rome, first fell in love with cooking in his grandmother’s kitchen -- kneading dough, baking bread, and experimenting with fresh pasta. After excelling at the I.P.S.A.R. Culinary Institute of Rome and leading Ristorante Barberini to acclaim, Chef Benny earned numerous awards, including the Gourmand World Cookbook Award and the honor of “Les Amis du Cordon Bleu” from Paris. He also serves as Honorary Chef-Professor of Culture and Cuisine of Italy at Milwaukee Area Technical College.
This week, Chef Benny gave students hands-on demonstrations, teaching them how to make fresh Italian pasta, sharing his passion, expertise, and authentic Italian techniques.
A huge thank you to Chef Benny and Taher for bringing this delicious, immersive experience to our students!
