Curriculum & Instruction
Curriculum and Instruction leads the development and effective implementation of a world-class curriculum through the quality teaching strategies. MSD Curriculum and Instruction promotes the Common Core Standards of Arkansas, supports instruction and assessment of the ACT Aspire through a variety of instructional resources, and facilitates professional learning for teachers and staff.
Support for Teachers and Students
The role of the Curriculum & Instruction Department is to support schools in the development of quality curriculum and the most effective instructional practices. Each student has a right to expect an educational program that provides for the achievement of knowledge and skills necessary for success in college and career. The services of the Curriculum & Instruction Department are fundamental components in providing a quality program for each of Marion's students.
The Curriculum & Instruction Department supports teachers and students through efforts such as the following:
- facilitating development, adoption, and review of academic knowledge and skills in the curriculum standards
- working with teachers and students to support instruction and assessment of the ACT Aspire and interim tests through a variety of resources
- facilitating instructional materials review and adoption
- providing professional development opportunities
