Act 1039: Dyslexia Reporting for 2018-2019

Dyslexia Program:
During the 2018-2019 school year, Marion Public School District used the evidenced-based Shelton Academic Reading Therapy Approach (SARA), Barton Reading and Spelling System, Reading Horizons Discovery, and Reading Horizons Elevate in small group interventions to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

Number of Students Who Received Dyslexia Intervention
During the 2018-2019 school year, 169 students attending Marion Public School District received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist.

Total Number of Students Identified as Exhibiting the Characteristics of Dyslexia
During the 2018-2019 school year, 152 students attending Marion Public School District were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia. (22 of the 152 students were identified at the end of the school year. They will be served in 2019-20.)
