We were honored to welcome Dr. Beatrice Harris from Tennessee State University, who delivered an engaging and insightful talk on the importance of maintaining a healthy diet and managing stress. Dr. Harris shared practical strategies for making better food choices, staying active, and finding balance between academics and personal well-being.
Her relatable approach resonated with students, who eagerly participated in a Q&A session and reflected on how small, consistent lifestyle changes can lead to lasting improvements in their overall health. Dr. Harris’s empowering message encouraged our students to take ownership of both their physical and mental wellness — in and out of the classroom.

Mrs. Jaeger’s Honors Civics class wrapped up a unit over different types of government with a project. For this project, groups worked together to develop their own government for a shipwrecked island society. This was a chance for students to be creative and show what they learned over the course of this unit about different types of government. Well done, students!

Our 9th graders had a BLAST in Mr. Skaggs’ class this week! Using Hot Wheels cars, they explored how to calculate distance and displacement in a hands-on lab. Students raced cars along straight lines, zig-zag paths, and even circular tracks to measure how far the cars traveled versus how far they ended up from the start.
