The Marion School District is introducing Edia Attendance, a new tool designed to make attendance communication with families faster, easier, and more convenient.
When a student is absent, families may receive a text message from Edia. Parents and guardians can simply reply to the message and share the reason for the absence. Those responses are then available to school staff so they can quickly review the information, update attendance records as appropriate, and follow up with families when additional support may be needed.
One of the benefits of Edia is its ability to communicate with families in their preferred language, helping make attendance communication more accessible across our district.
Families should know that Edia is intended to make the attendance process simpler, not more complicated. If you receive a message regarding your child’s attendance, simply reply to the text with the requested information.
Through Edia Attendance, Marion School District hopes to:
Improve communication between schools and families
Make attendance reporting easier and more efficient
Provide quicker follow-up when a student is absent
Help identify when families may need additional support
Regular attendance plays an important role in student success, and strong communication between home and school is an important part of that work.
Families are encouraged to watch for Edia attendance messages and respond when contacted.
