Science Speed Challenge

The science department at MJHS has been busy with the speed challenge.  The assignment began last week when the weather outside was sunny and conducive for outdoor activities.  The students began by partnering up into teams of two. They each would take turns measuring the time to complete five different tasks.  The tasks included hopping, walking backwards, walking forwards, running and walking with an egg on a spoon all in the same distance. The students  completed each task 3 times and all three times are recorded on a table. The assignment was then carried back into the classroom the next day to compare the data.  Each group created five distance-time graphs comparing both students data. The students loved the change of scenery and the friendly competition. Coach Kelley also participated in the 5-Task Challenge defeating his partners time. Check out the MJHS Facebook page for more pictures and videos of the challenge.
