Act 1039: Dyslexia Reporting

Act 1039: Dyslexia Reporting for 2017-2018

 

During the 2017-2018 school year, Marion Public School District used the evidenced-based Shelton Academic Reading Therapy Approach (SARA), Barton Reading and Spelling System,  Reading Horizons Discovery, and Reading Horizons Elevate in small group interventions to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.

 

Number of Students Who Received Dyslexia Intervention

During the 2017-2018 school year, 146 students attending Marion Public School District received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist.

 

Total Number of Students Identified as Exhibiting the Characteristics of Dyslexia

During the 2017-2018 school year, 121 students attending Marion Public School District were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.  (18 of the 121 students were identified at the end of the school year. They will be served in 2018-19.)
