These scholarships are offered by the colleges and universities and have different requirements.  Check with the individual colleges or universities for their applications and requirements.  Some applications are available in the guidance office and many are available on-line at the college websites.
Varies according to the university and the particular scholarship.
Wendy's High School Heisman Award
This scholarship is available to all males and females who are seniors, have a B grade average, and participate in at least one sport.  To apply go to www.wendysheisman.com.

Coca-Cola Scholarship
Applicants for these 250 scholarships will be evaluated on their demonstrated leadership in school, their commitment to the community, their academic achievement, and their part-time employment.  All applications must be submitted online and will need Marion High School's CEEB code, 041-560.  To apply online, go to www.coca-colascholars.org.

Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship
Any high school senior who is a U. S. citizen is eligible to apply.  Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.  Applications are available after Sept. 1 online at www.elks.org/enflscholars.

Burger King Scholars
Applicant must be a high school senior who  has a cumulative gpa of 2.5 or higher, works part-time for a minimum of 10 hours per week or 40 weeks per year, be actively involved in community service, and demonstrates financial need.  To apply, go to http://www.haveityourwayfoundation.org/.

KFC Colonel's Scholars
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative gpa of 2.75, enroll in a university in the state in which they reside, plan to pursue a bachelor's degree, and demonstate financial need.  Application is available at www.kfcscholars.org.
Available online from December 1, 2009 through February 10, 2010.
USDA/1890 National Scholars Program
Applicants must have a cumulative gpa of 3.0 or better, an ACT minimum score of 21, plan to attend one of the eighteen Historically Black Land-Grant Universities, plan to study agriculature, food, natural resource sciences, or other related courses, and demonstrate leadership and community service. Applications are available in the counselor's office.

Gates Millennium Scholars Program
One thousand of these scholarships will be awarded.  Applicants must be African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American.  In addition, the applicant must have an unweighted gpa of at least 3.3, have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular or other activities, and meet the Federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria.  Information is available at www.gmsp.org and a few applications are in the guidance office.

Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship
These six $2500 scholarships will be awarded primarily on a need basis.  The four categories upon which  the applicants will be evaluated  are need, academics, community service, and writing skills.  The applicant must have a minimum 2.5 gpa and must submit proof of financial need, either from a federal student aid report or a copy of their guardian's 2009 income tax return.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

ArkansasGovernor's Commission on People with Disabilities Scholarship
These scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, community involvement, goals, and the specific challenges faced due to the disability of the student.  The disability will need to be indicated by a professional health care provider.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

Arkansas School Plant Management Association Scholarship
Any 2010 graduating high school senior is eligible to apply for these $500 scholarships.  Students must complete the application, give a list of all activities and awards, write an essay, and provide letters of recommendation.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

Phi Delta Kappa Prospective Educator Scholarship
The applicant must be a senior who is planning to major in education and meets one of the following - member of a Future Educators Association, child or grandchild of a Phi Delta Kappan, have a reference from a Phi Delta Kappa, be selected to represent the local Phi Delta Kappa chapter.  Applications are available at www.pdkintl.org/awards/prospective.htm.
Alpha Chi Chapter, Vikette Society 2010 Book Scholarship
The applicant must be a female high school senior who plans to attend the University of Akransas at Pine Bluff.  She must have a gpa of at least 2.5 and an ACT score of 17 or better.  Applications are available in the counselor's office.

Arkansas Governor's Scholars Program, Arkansas Academic Challenge (Lottery) Scholarship, Law enforcement Officer's Dependents Scholarship, Military Dependents Scholarship, Go! Grant
To apply for any of the state funded scholarships,  go to the Arkansas Department of Higher Education web page (www.adhe.edu).  On the left side of the screen there are two buttons to click that will help you and give you information - one is YOUniversal and the one directly below it is Financial Aid.

Ernest Whitelaw-Don Kinney Scholarship awarded by the American Indian Center of Arkansas
In order to be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must be of documentable Native American descent from a federally recognized tribe.  The documentation required is a Certificate of Degree of Indian Blood card or tribal enrollment documentation from a federally recognized tribe.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

Arkansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (AASFAA) Scholarship
Applicants for these $500 scholarships must be planning to attend an Arkansas school.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  Winners will be chosen by random drawings.

Ralph G. Norman Scholarship through the Learning Disabilities Association of Arkansas
Four  $2500 scholarships with be awarded to students with learning differences.  Application and requirements are on www.ldarkansas.org<http//:www.ldarkansas.org/>.
Crittenden County Board of Realtors Scholarship
This $500 scholarship will be awarded to a high school graduate who plans to further their education in the areas of business, real estate, or law.  The recipient will be awarded an additional $500 second semester if he/she maintains a 2.50 gpa.  Details are available in the guidance office.

Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship
Applicant must demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, good ACT scores, leadership ability, involvement in school and community activities, and high goals and aspirations.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

THEA Filmmaking Scholarship

Southeastern States Pupil Transportation Scholarships
To qualify for this scholarship, the parent/guardian must have been actively employed in public school transportation for the past five years and also have a gross taxable income less than $75,000 for each of those past five years.  
Leadership Scholarship presented by Crittenden County NAACP and Arkansas Distributing Company
Applicants for this $2500 scholarship must be in the 2010 graduating class from a Crittenden County high school, must have a 2.5 gpa, must be actively involved in service clubs, extracurricular activities and the communit.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

Allen Helms, Sr. Scholarship by Crittenden Gin Company
This $1500 scholarship will be awarded to a student who is interested in agriculture or an agriculture related field.  Applications are available in the guidance office.

Applicants must be or have been associated with the fire department, police department, or one of the military services.  Applications are available in the guidance office.
