 | WELCOME TO THE MARION JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL BAND
Procedures, guidelines and rules to be used at all times in the MHS Band Room.
As you read the following guidelines/rules you will see they are only using good manners that you have already been taught by others before entering our class.
Be in class on time.
Be in your seat ready to work on you class assignments.
Be sure you remember to go to the bathroom before or after class.
Bring pencil, and folder to class each day.
As you walk in the door read the board for the day’s agenda and assignments.
Place your books, bags, and purses against the walls neatly. Please leave your cases in the appropriate cubby. Flutes and Clarinets will leave their cases under their chairs.
Be courteous, and use good manners at all times.
While I am talking please do not disturb other students and infringe upon their rights by talking.
Raise your hand if you would like to make a comment. There is no individual playing or noise making of any sort tolerated.
At all times, keep your hands, feet, books, and all other objects to yourself.
Always exit properly. Class ends when I dismiss class, not when the bell rings. At the end of class you will pack up your things quietly and pick up around you. Each day a different section will have clean up duty. This involves picking up and straightening chairs.
The following items and/or actions are never allowed in the bandroom: food, gum, or drink, refusing to do your classroom assignments, rudeness to me or another student, sleeping, horseplaying, and changing the settings on the heating and cooling thermostat.
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to make arrangements to make up your work on your own time.
It is important for us to communicate. Feel free at any time before or after class to come to me about any class matter that you do not understand or that you do not agree with, and I will be happy to discuss the matter. Please, if you have an idea or suggestion that would make our class more efficiently please discuss this with me before or after class.
I will expect your cooperation on the above procedures. Please be respectful at all times. If each student will do his/her best to meet these standards, it will help us to have an informative, successful, and pleasant year.
