The MES library is located in room 17 on the first floor of the third grade building. Our library supports our curriculum frameworks and student achievement with almost eight thousand age/interest appropriate books.
Students come to the library during a forty minute period each week with their class to check out books and learn library concepts. Individual students may also come to the library in the mornings as they need to check out new books. Students learn and apply library
skills including the care of books, parts of a book, and card catalog and book searches using the Dewey Decimal system. Our students learn about book awards such as the Caldecott Medal and participate in choosing the Arkansas Diamond Award each year.
In addition to being a hub for reading, the library also maintains a great media collection to enrich the curriculum and and a professional and parent section.
