Knows their numbers

Marion High School students competed in the Regional ACTM (Arkansas council of Teachers of Mathematics) math contest at ASU-MidSouth on Saturday, March 4, and several came home as winners. Seated are (left) Alexis Keathley who earned special recognition in Algebra II and Claire Bunn who earned special recognition in Statistics. Standing (from left) are: Wesley Barrett who won first place in Algebra II; Christopher O’Neal who earned special recognition in Calculus; and Ben Baser who won third place in Calculus. Not pictured are Jordan Baber, Dallas Nash and Mariah Odom. Odom placed third in Pre-Calculus. Baber and Nash, along with Bunn, Baser and O’Neal, were the winning Engineering team that constructed a 7’1” tower with newspaper and tape. Barrett competed in the state event Saturday, April 21.
